Caution
Alice
I left my room and walked down the hall in tears. I had to tell Carlisle and Esme. Esme saw me coming downstairs, crying, and ran to me.
"Alice? What's wrong? Are you missing Jasper?" she fussed, hugging me tight.
"I'm pregnant," I wailed, "I can't believe it!"
Esme's face lit up, and she held my face in her hands, "Congratulations, honey!"
Carlisle stood up as he saw me and Esme standing together in a tight hug. I was wailing and hugging her tight.
"Is everything OK?" Carlisle asked. I nodded, clinging to Esme like a child.
"I'm pregnant," I smiled through the tears. Carlisle smiled too and hugged me tight.
"That's great," he murmured, "I'm happy for you. I'll book you for a scan as soon as possible to see how far along you are."
I sat down on the couch in between my parents again. Carlisle's smiling face turned serious and he touched my shoulder.
"Now, Alice, there's a chance that you could lose this baby," he sighed, "It's still early days. Just, take it easy and don't get too overexcited. I don't want you to lose the baby."
I nodded, "I know. I'll do anything to keep this baby safe."
I called Rosalie when Carlisle went to work and Esme went to sort some paperwork for her architect company. I had stopped crying, but I felt like screaming with happiness.
"Alice? Are you OK?" Rose asked, sounding a bit nervous. I smiled with excitement.
"I'm pregnant!" I squealed. Rosalie gasped.
"Congratulations, Alice! I told you it would happen! I'm so happy for you!" she said, and her voice showed she was clearly smiling.
"I'm so happy," I giggled, looking down at my stomach, "I'll probably need to get a bigger dress for your wedding, I'll be too big."
"I'm sure we can sort that," Rosalie replied, "Have you told Jasper?"
"He was first to know. I took the test when I was on Skype with him," I smiled. Rosalie giggled.
"That's so cute. I saw that he named a baby elephant after you," she said.
"Yes, it's so sweet of him," I sighed happily, "I want you to come to my first scan."
"Really? Thanks, sis!" Rosalie squealed.
"And if it's ok with you, Rebbie can come too," I smiled. I knew Rebecca would love to see her baby cousin. Rosalie laughed and called Rebecca's name, and then I heard my little niece's giggles.
"Auntie Alice wants to ask you something," Rosalie passed the phone to Rebecca.
"Hey, Auntie Alice!" Rebbie squealed.
"Rebbie, I'm having a baby," I smiled.
"Yay!" Rebbie shouted, "Well done, Auntie Alice!"
I giggled, well done for getting pregnant? I lapped up the praise, "I'm having a scan to see the baby, would you like to come too?"
Rebbie squealed and screamed with excitement for a while, "Yes! I want to come!"
I smiled, "Good. I'll tell your mommy when we're going."
Carlisle booked a scan for me the next day. Esme had got me my laptop and made sure Skype worked on it. Jasper made sure he had time to be at the scan through Skype. Rebbie ran to me when we came to pick her and Rosalie up. I hugged her tight.
"Where's the baby?" she asked, and I giggled. I put her hand on my stomach.
"In here," I murmured, "The baby has to grow inside me before you can see her."
Rebbie giggled and stroked my stomach, "Hello baby cousin," she smiled. I giggled. Rebbie sat in between me and Rosalie on the way to the hospital. I smiled with excitement.
I laid on the couch at the hospital, with Rebbie next to me on Rosalie's knee and Esme next on their other side. Esme turned Skype on, and Jasper appeared on the screen.
"Uncle Jasper!" Rebbie smiled. Jasper smiled back and waved to her.
"Hey, Rebbie," he chuckled, "I see you're here to see our baby too?"
Rebbie nodded, then Jasper smiled at me, "How are you, Alice?"
"Excited," I smiled. I pulled up my top and let Carlisle apply the gel to my stomach. He gently moved the scanner over my stomach until he found a little shape on the screen. Esme had the webcam in her grip so Jasper could see the screen. I smiled and watched the screen, seeing the tiny figure.
"Everything seems to be OK, the baby is healthy and growing alright. You're eight weeks pregnant," Carlisle told me. I smiled. Jasper was staring at the screen where our baby's heartbeat was easy to see. I was so excited to see my baby.
